Mercer & Co builds and operates a software platform that connects algorithmic trading strategies to live broker accounts. When a client's strategy generates a buy or sell signal, the platform routes that order to the correct broker account, monitors the fill, updates the position ledger, and enforces any pre-set risk limits — all without requiring the trader to be at a screen. The platform does not generate trading ideas, select assets, or manage money. It is an execution and monitoring tool, analogous to the infrastructure layer that sits between a strategy and the market. Clients range from individual quantitative traders running a single strategy to small trading desks managing multiple strategies across several EU-regulated broker accounts simultaneously. The geographic focus is Romania and the broader EU, where MiFID II compliance and broker access conditions are a shared frame of reference for all users.
How the Team Works and What It Will Not Promise
Five years of building integrations has produced clear views on what automated trading tools can and cannot do.
Since 2019, the Mercer & Co team has built and maintained broker integrations for more than 80 client configurations across a dozen supported venues. The team is composed of software engineers with backgrounds in financial systems and quantitative methods. Integration work follows a documented process: specification review, paper-trading validation, live testing with reduced position size, and a formal sign-off before full deployment. The team does not promise specific trading returns, income levels, or risk-adjusted performance outcomes — those depend on the strategy the client supplies and on market conditions that no automation tool controls. What the team does commit to is that when a strategy generates a signal, the platform executes it correctly, at the correct broker, within the latency and risk parameters agreed at setup. Updates to broker APIs are monitored continuously, and clients are notified at least 48 hours before any scheduled maintenance window that could affect live connections.
